Every exam competency mapped to the hub tools that teach it. Open Future Diag Academy to activate flashcards, spaced practice, and a progress dashboard built on the science of how memory actually works.
Before you start studying
This deck is built differently — here's why it works.
🔁
Retrieval Practice
You read the prompt and try to generate the answer before revealing it. The struggle to retrieve is not a sign you don't know it — it is the learning. Every retrieval strengthens the memory.
📅
Spaced Practice
Cards you find difficult come back sooner. Cards you know well come back later. Spacing review across sessions produces dramatically stronger retention than cramming the night before.
🔀
Interleaving
Interleaved mode mixes all 8 competencies together. It's uncomfortable. It also works far better than finishing Comp 001 before starting Comp 002. Blocked mode exists for targeted weak-spot drilling.
🔗
Elaboration
Every card includes an example and an "In Your Career" note that connects the exam concept to real practice. Connecting new knowledge to what you already know is one of the most powerful encoding strategies available.
🎯
Your Confidence Rating Matters
Before the answer reveals, you rate yourself. That moment of commitment — even when the answer doesn't come — activates retrieval. Attempting to retrieve something you don't yet know produces better learning than reading the answer passively.
You are not being tested. You are being trained. The discomfort is the mechanism. A card that feels hard is working exactly the way it's supposed to.

The Comp 001 pills on hub cards show which competency a tool primarily supports. This page is the full map — reference the crosswalk, then flip into Study Mode to drill what you've read.
Identification for Special Education Evaluation and Services
Child Find obligations, referral procedures, intervention data, cultural/linguistic diversity, and the legal framework that governs who gets evaluated and why.
Interpretation and Reporting of Evaluation Results
Making sense of scores — standard scores, confidence intervals, pattern analysis, cross-battery interpretation, and writing FIEs that parents can actually understand.
Educational implications of disabilities, evidence-based instruction, and accommodations, modifications, and interventions — including the recommendations you hand the ARD committee.
The distributed competency. No single spine phase owns 004 — instruction touches everything. Its tools are marked with card-level pills wherever they live. Search "competency 004" on the hub to pull them all at once.
Tools to study with
Accommodations Bank25+ accommodations by disability area and setting — 004's core vocabulary
Social, behavioral, communication, and adaptive skills — plus the FBA/BIP machinery, manifestation determinations, transition, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
State and federal law, consent and due process, confidentiality and ethics, the diagnostician's role and qualifications, and the profession's organizations and foundations.
The written constructed response: analyze a student's qualitative and quantitative data, identify strengths and needs, make one evidence-based recommendation, and describe how a teacher would implement and progress-monitor it.
Build a realistic profile in the Score Profile Builder — mix cognitive and achievement scores with a deliberate weakness.
Decode it with the Score Pattern Decoder and name the student's strengths and needs in your own words first.
Write one evidence-based recommendation — the prompt asks for one, not five.
Describe exactly how a teacher would implement it and monitor progress. Then check your reasoning against the Data Integration Reference.
